Learn to knit the Jacobus Monkey from the head down to the tip of his tail. It is a very fun and educational project, and you will learn a great deal.
It takes approx 4 one-hour sessions to make this project but we have 7 dates planned. It all depends on how much you finish between classes. There are additional patterns on Ravelry for clothing for the monkey.
The class is LIVE on ZOOM for plenty of personal attention, including a 2nd camera facing my hands, so you can see how to do things! For the $50 workshop fee, you can come to any or all of the scheduled sessions.
At each class, we will work on a new section of your monkey. Although the pattern can be made on one or two long circular needles, if you have not done that before, please start with DPNs.
PREREQUISITE FOR THIS CLASS: Must be very comfortable casting on and working Knits and Purls. Experience with DPNs or Magic Loop can help, but mainly an adventurous spirit is the most important thing.
SUPPLIES LIST: You will need to purchase the Jacobus pattern (we can add it to your order), plus two balls of Adriafil KnitCol (or 100gm of other self-striping yarn (or solid if desired), plus one 50gm ball of a contrast color (we used Encore DK) for the face, hands and feet of your monkey. I recommend DPN needles to suit the yarn, smaller than the label calls for, which helps prevent stuffing showing through the fabric:
Fingering: 0 or 1
DK: 3 or 4
Worsted: 5 or 6
